Indie Scientist

A little about me…
My name is Thomas Perkins, Jr.

Currently, I am working with Harvard Medical School alumni Devin K. Schweppe (Advanced Proteomics) and Brian J. Beliveau (3D Genome Organization) as a Joint Lab Scientist/Engineer at the University of Washington - School of Medicine.

Through my work, I am expanding multiplexing technologies for quantitative proteomics to define cell state in response to cellular perturbations. In addition, I am also working to investigate regulatory communities within the nucleus.

I work part-time as:
- Founder of TapBioscience
- Scientific Advisor for Guidepoint
- Alpha-Tester for Wisecube
- Product Development Consultant for Form Bio

My previous work is:
- Research Associate, Drug Discovery Biology at Weatherwax Biotechnologies
- Research Associate, Cancer Genomics at Flagship Pioneering
- Manufacturing Lead at Twist Bioscience
- Aquatic Toxicology Laboratory Assistant at PACIFIC ECORISK, INC.

I am a curious, passionate, science-based, innovative person that naturally wants to help people.

If you want to get involved with science or have a burning desire to become a scientist, please reach out to me here at TapBioscience where I can do my very best to help prepare anyone for this type of career.

I have a non-traditional, informal academic background which drives me to help others, like me, who may have never even considered being a scientist but are thrilled by the idea.
