So you want to be a Scientist...

What does it take?
Traditionally, you must:
• Take AP classes in high school = 4 years

then you must:
• Finish Bachelor’s degree = 4 years
• Finish Master’s degree = 1-2 years
(Can go straight to Ph.D in some cases)
• Finish Ph.D = 4-8 years
(6 on average)
• Internship or Industrial Experience (variable)

Then after 8 - 16 years of extreme focus, you may be CONSIDERED for a scientist role, but definitely NOT guaranteed a spot in one.
